Each Week, we will start with a weigh in, discuss goal setting, and cover a topic for wellness

Health and Wellness

We will be discussing the overall program and what that will look like for the next 8 weeks.   We will discuss different parts and dimensions of your health and happiness such as how you feel physically, emotionally, socially, mentally, spiritually, at work, and in your surroundings, so you can look at your life in a complete way.  We will also discuss the importance of self-care and help you to establish realistic goals for the duration of the program. 

 Physical Activity

We will talk about simple ways to incorporate movement into your daily routine. We will also practice movement activities such as progressive muscle relaxation to assist with stress management. We will also complete a pelvic floor assessment to determine how this relates to posture and proper muscle activation and relaxation. Whether you are already active or just starting out, this workshop with give you strategies to meet your individual needs.  

 Diet and Nutrition 

Learn how to fuel your body with nourishing choices that support energy, vitality, and overall well-being. Gain a better understanding of how a balanced, nutrient-rich diet is an essential part of your wellness journey. We will be discussing mindful eating, and provide tips to decrease stress eating and how to develop and maintain healthy eating habits.

Sleep

Sleep is an important part of lifestyle to combat fatigue and stress.  Learn techniques to help improve your sleep and sleep habits.  

Hydration

Discover the transformative power of hydration. Adequate water intake is key to maintaining bodily functions, promoting clearer skin, and supporting overall cognitive and physical performance.  

Stress Management

We will be discussing the stress response and how this impacts our body and nervous system. We will introduce some stress management strategies such as mindfulness and guided imagery and introduce other stress-reducing modalities.

Connecting with others isn't just about happiness—it's a vital key to maintaining good mental and emotional well-being.  This challenge is more than learning how to reshape habits, it's about fostering a vibrant, supportive community of women.

Michelle is a Physical Therapist who specializes in Manual Therapy, Lifestyle Medicine,  Pelvic Floor, and Pain Management.

Michelle  graduated from Northeastern University in 2007 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Along with her Doctorate, she has special certifications such as Manual Therapy Certification, Pelvic Health Certification, Lifestyle Medicine Certification, and a Certification as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist. She is also a certified coach in health and wellness.

What inspired Michelle to become a physical therapist is the relationship she is able to form with her clients. She wanted to develop a practice where she could be of help on clients’ journey of improving their health and wellness. Her passion lies in working alongside her patients and developing unique individualized treatments, helping them improve their overall quality of life.

Michelle grew up in New York right outside of New York City. She’s had the great opportunity to live and practice all over the world, including places like Guam, Seattle, Spokane Washington, Boston Massachusetts, and Hampton Virginia.

When she’s not working, Michelle loves to be active because movement is medicine! She also likes to read, cook, travel, and spend time with her family.
